Nein. Alarme kommen als Mitteilung an. Während eines aktiven Notrufs sendet die App deinen Standort auch im Hintergrund. No. Alerts arrive as notifications. During an active emergency the app shares your location in the background, too.

Funktioniert die Apple Watch ohne iPhone?Does the Apple Watch work without an iPhone?

Du löst direkt von der Watch aus. Hat die Watch selbst Internet (WLAN oder Mobilfunk bei Cellular-Modellen), sendet sie den Notruf eigenständig – auch ohne iPhone in der Nähe. Sonst leitet sie ihn über dein gekoppeltes iPhone weiter. You trigger right from the watch. If the watch has its own connection (Wi-Fi, or mobile data on cellular models), it sends the alert on its own – even without your iPhone nearby. Otherwise it relays it through your paired iPhone.

Wie lange wird mein Standort geteilt?How long is my location shared?

Nur während eines aktiven Notrufs. Er endet mit der Entwarnung oder automatisch – danach wird der Standort gelöscht. Only during an active alert. It ends when you sound the all-clear or automatically – afterwards the location is deleted.

Unser Opa ist 96. Oft ist er für mehrere Tage allein – zu Hause, mit dem Auto unterwegs oder beim Einkaufen. Zu wissen, dass er im Ernstfall schnell Hilfe bekommt und die ganze Familie sofort sieht, wo er ist, beruhigt ungemein. Genau dieser Gedanke war der Anstoß für SOS – damit niemand im Notfall allein dasteht. Our grandpa is 96. He's often on his own for days – at home, out driving or shopping. Knowing he'd get help fast if he ever needed it, and that the whole family would instantly see where he is, is deeply reassuring. That very thought is what sparked SOS – so no one faces an emergency alone.
